Visiting
Accessibility
We want everyone to enjoy their visit to Perthshire Zoo, and we are committed to making our site as accessible and welcoming as possible. Because the zoo is built on a historic hill farm, some areas have natural slopes and uneven terrain that may be challenging for wheelchair users or visitors with limited mobility.
Accessible areas
Many parts of the zoo are fully accessible, including:
- The main zoo area — smooth, level pathways suitable for wheelchairs and mobility aids.
- The Australia Walkthrough — a step-free, accessible experience with our wallabies and birds.
- The café, shop and main facilities — all on accessible routes.
Areas with limited accessibility
Due to the natural landscape of the hill farm, some enclosures and paths have steeper gradients, uneven ground, gravel or natural surfaces, and narrower pathways. These may be difficult to access for wheelchair users or visitors with mobility challenges. We are continually working to improve accessibility across the site.
Planning your visit
If you or someone in your group has accessibility needs, we recommend:
- Contacting us before your visit for personalised advice.
- Checking in with our team on arrival — we’re always happy to help.
- Allowing extra time to navigate the site comfortably.
Carers, parking and facilities
Visitors who require a carer or support person are welcome to bring them free of charge — please bring relevant documentation. Accessible parking spaces are available close to the entrance, and accessible toilets and baby-changing facilities are available on site.
